They say slow and steady wins the race and I hope they’re right because that’s how War In Flesh is going. I spent all day yesterday making steady progress. Things are coming together nicely. I skimmed some of the highlights of The Art Of War yesterday to see if any of that would fit into one of my characters philosophies. I guess I should give myself time credit for that kind of research. It makes for richer stories but it really slows down the actual writing.
For the record nothing from The Art of War fit directly into the section I was writing but that doesn’t mean I won’t go back and use it later at a better point in the story for it. Last time I was researching how to weld steel seams on ships and SWATH ship design. This book will be a bit different.
Today we will be joining the Cinco de Mayo celebrations going on around town and having a good time. I’m looking forward to being out in the sun and enjoying the giant celebration. Then I’m going to lobby hard to see Iron Man 3 tonight. So I’ll probably be taking the day off from writing (of course most of the time when I say that I get really inspired and have a great writing day).
I’ve had some ideas for Second Chances I really want to get written down too. That means that if I do get a chance to do some writing I may have some progress on both books. I did get another section edited for my secondary project, the unnamed one that I’m working on very casually. This is mainly because it involves collecting stories from others and I don’t know when I will have the opportunity to do that. It is also a very personal project so I am handling it with special care. This project will take time and I’m ok with that. I don’t know when, if ever, I’ll have it ready for publication but so far I have permission from my storytellers so who knows what the future will hold. K.
